It is the first question everyone asks, and the one most agencies dodge. So here is the honest answer: a website costs what it costs to build the thing you actually need, and the trick is working out what that is.
What pushes the price up
A few things genuinely add work, and therefore cost:
- Number of pages. A five page brochure site is quicker to design and build than a twenty page one.
- Selling online. Shops need products, payments, delivery rules and order emails. That is real engineering.
- Custom features. Booking systems, member areas, calculators. Brilliant when you need them, wasted money when you do not.
- Content. If you have photos and words ready, great. If we are writing copy and sourcing imagery, that is extra time.
What should never cost extra
Some things should be included in any decent quote, full stop. Mobile responsiveness. Basic search engine setup. An SSL certificate. The ability to edit your own content. If someone is charging these as extras, walk away.
Why we do fixed quotes
Hourly billing rewards slow work. We quote a fixed price up front, so you know exactly what you are paying before we start, and the risk of it taking longer sits with us, not you.
If you want a real number for your real project, request a quote. It takes two minutes and we reply within 24 hours.
