Your website is often the first impression a customer gets of your business. Here are five signs it might be making the wrong one.
1. It looks broken on a phone
More than half of your visitors are on mobile. If they have to pinch and zoom, or buttons are impossible to tap, they will give up and try the next business on Google.
2. It takes more than three seconds to load
Speed is not a nice-to-have. Slow sites rank lower on Google and lose visitors before the page even appears. If your site feels sluggish on your own phone, imagine it on a weak signal.
3. You cannot update it yourself
If changing your opening hours means emailing someone and waiting a week, your site is working against you. Modern sites come with simple admin areas where you can edit content in minutes.
4. The design screams 2015
Web design moves on. Tiny text, cluttered sidebars, stocky clip art and sliders that nobody clicks all date a site instantly, and customers notice, even if only subconsciously.
5. It does not actually bring you work
The hardest question: when did your website last win you a customer? A good site is not a brochure that sits there. It should be answering questions, building trust and making it effortless to get in touch.
Recognise a few of these? A refresh does not have to mean starting from scratch. Get in touch and we will give you an honest opinion on what is worth keeping.
